CMD Voices
UX design, app design, prototyping, student work • 2025
This project was part of my study Communication & Multimedia Design (AUAS). The assignment was to design an interactive application in three weeks that makes an invisible or unused sub-community within CMD visible, active and connected. The solution had to be both online and offline and fit within the context of the Amstelcampus.

By interviewing various CMD'ers, I arrived at the target group "beginning entrepreneurs." A second round of interviews gave me more insight into what beginning entrepreneurs need. I recorded this in a user persona.
I then researched other similar solutions used by the target group and benchmarked them. Based on this, I came up with a first concept of the solution.
Using storyboards and test versions, I further expanded and improved the solution together with test subjects from the target group to a final product: CMD Voices.

CMD Voices is a platform for and by students who are entrepreneurs in addition to their studies. Using an app, they can submit topics, vote on what should be discussed and register as a host of a low-threshold meeting on campus. These meetings - the “Voices” - take place in a familiar space within CMD, where students share experiences, questions and tips with each other.
To involve students who do not dare to participate directly, there is a video booth on location where you can record your story, question or appeal. It is all about recognition, visibility and connection between students who often work independently, but could benefit a lot from each other. CMD Voices makes this community visible and active - without becoming formal or complicated.
